Mother's Day Parade preempted by Flood Relief -- pass it on.

Due to Nashville's historic flooding over this past weekend, the continuously emerging needs of our city and larger community, Nashville's 5th Annual Mother's Day Peace Parade-- previously slated for Sunday May 9-- will be*** canceled.***

The need for relief is so great across our beloved city that we are encouraging all to involve themselves in efforts for that cause instead.

You can sign up to help with Hands on Nashville or through the Red Cross or through the amazing efforts of East Nashvillians headquartered at ArtHouse Gardens: 227-8733.

If you want to donate to flood relief, I recommend you do so through the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

If you need help OR WANT to help and don't know where to turn, please contact me and I'll do my best to help you with resources.

It is possible we mamas can work together to provide child wrangling cooperative care so that more of us can lend an assist where needed.

It is likely that we will choose an alternate date-- at a time yet to be determined -- to celebrate community and motherhood and family, in ALL its myriad configurations.

We ARE family, and we're all in this together.

Peace to you, sweet friends,
