Abundant Blessings: Thankful Thursday.

In our home, we refer to this as the "Michigan Blessing:"

And for this gift of food we say,
For all your loving care today,
Father, we thank Thee.
Amen.

(optional: Yay, God! Yay, Us!)

Today, I am thankful for:

-- our first beautiful CSA share this season, as above (ground beef, eggs, butter lettuce, radishes, green onions, cauliflower, strawberries)

-- the Keen sandals passed on to us (Ziggy) from friends Sarah and Clara

-- a freshly mown front lawn, thoughtfully accomplished by the Mister last evening before the rains of the morning

-- the excitement of a prolific mulberry tree and plans for jam

-- new running shoes that make my nervy plantar faciitis problem a little less painful (the New Balance 737, oh so lovely! In a silver and raspberry combo, to boot!)

-- O's growth spurt, which means he is thriving, even though we had to replace his relatively new New Balance sneakers and Crocs....

-- sleep (four nights in the last week, an early -- with the child -- bedtime for me)

-- the lessening of allergies and its attendant snot for our family members (no nice way to put it, really)

-- dear friends at our Community Center who love us as we love them, and with whom we share snacks and stories and childcare and the experience of raising a family

-- a fine visit with my folks, my sister's family and my brother and his wife

-- a reliable and safe vehicle ferrying us across the plateau and back a time or three each month to visit family

-- family suppers at the table all together

-- daily bird sightings which thrill us all

-- Ziggy sweetly and independently deciding that he is too big for his "little red bike" and giving it "to Nina, for their little Eva"
